We started Gymboree Play & Music class long before Brendan started walking. I questioned if he was too little and wouldn't get anything out of such a class but boy was I wrong! Our very first class we went crazy with the colorful parachute flying overhead, playful music and warm & welcoming teachers. He actually began clapping, right then and there! Need less to say, I was hooked! So began our life at Gymboree! Once a week for class and sometimes several times a wee for open gym! I can't tell you how great it was to have a safe place for them to play where they would not be told "no" everything was age appropriate! Another thing I love about Gymboree is how they are constantly keeping things fresh and class is broken up into a 6 month ranges...just perfect!
One of Brendan's favorite things was "Air Log Freeze" and I was so sad when he was moving onto next level that would no longer have that song but then he fell in love with "Dance with Gymbo" song! The classes are so appropriate and fun!
Now my sweet, sweet, Brendan has a ton of energy and sitting still was not one of his greatest strengths. As he was turning three and nearing the end of the parent & me classes at Gymboree I was worried about how he would do in school. So I spoke to our favorite teacher, Dawn and she suggested the Gymboree School Skills class that she teaches. I have to rave this has been a huge success! Not only does he love the class but has gained such confidence, wonderful social skills, he's becoming independent, learning the alphabet, and the unthinkable...sits still during circle time! Teacher Dawn has called him a "joy to have in class." Which makes me beam with pride and its all thanks to Teacher Dawn and the wonderful foundation that Gymboree has given him!!!
Thank you Los Altos, CA Gymboree and Teacher Dawn for making such an amazing difference in the life of my wonderful son! And the best news...Brendan now has a baby sister Kaitlin who will begin her own class on Tuesday!
