From shy to outgoing!

My son has always been shy around new people, so I was a bit apprehensive to take him to a play and learn class. At first, he did not want to participate in the activities, and would just cling to me and repeatedly ask to "hold Mommy." However, after a few weeks, he began to get very attached to his teachers. He started talking about them at home, and would sing "We want, we want Gymbo!" at home, in the car, and while we were out in public.

Additionally, he is now in love with one of his teachers, Jillian. He talks about her non-stop and gets so excited that he wiggles his hands when he's talking about her. In short, he thinks she hung the moon.

This past week, in class, my shy boy belted out his own version of the Hallelujah chorus. With an adorable and yet serious expression, he sang "Halle-luuuuu-jah! halle-luuuu-jah!" while dancing back and forth. All of the other moms were very impressed with his abilities, but I was just proud of my boy for opening up and sharing himself with people besides my husband and I.

GymboreePlay & Music has helped him to be more social and more confident, and for that, I am grateful.
