Gymboree Motivated Him to Crawl

My son had been in physical therapy for two months because he has hypertonia (over-developed muscles that are difficult to bend and move). We were concerned because he still wasn't crawling. Four times a week we would meet with our physical therapist and watch as she would try and move his legs and he'd cry because he didn't want to. We decided to do something different and join Gymboree, because he loved interacting with other babies. When we arrived at Gymboree Play & Music, the room was bright and colorful and there were lots of other babies for our son to smile at. Once he saw the other babies crawling, he immediately began to push back with his arms and crawl backwards. We couldn't believe it! We'd been in therapy for so long, and all it took was one Gymboree lesson to get him crawling! Now he's walking and any his hypertonia is nearly gone. My son loves Gymboree and looks forward to it everyday, and as parents it makes us happy to know we're helping encourage movement in a way that is fun.
