Life Lessons Learned at Gymboree

My son has learned many lessons since he started attending Gymboree Play & Music, but the one that stands out in my mind, and always makes me smile, is when I think of my son and his generosity. The lesson of the class one Sunday was “Going Through”. It was an obstacle course consisting of slides and tunnels. Aidan was going through the obstacle course, his face was beaming with joy and his laughter was heard all around, when a little girl came through the tunnel and was approaching the slide. I stopped Aidan and reminded him that he should let this little girl go first because ladies always go first. Aidan stepped back and watched this little girl go first. A while later the same scenario happened but with a different little girl. My big-hearted son very graciously stepped aside and let this little girl go up the slide first. I was so proud because he remembered what I told him and applied the lesson. He is getting older now and he is starting to comprehend things more. Just from this class alone, Aidan learned not only do ladies go first but that everyone gets a chance. Our Sunday morning Gymboree sessions really kick the week off right for our family. We get to spend good quality time learning and having fun with our son. Additionally, he gets to interact with the other kids there and this has really helped him to develop the social skills that are such an important part of everyday life. He will be able to use the tools he is learning and developing at Gymboree throughout the rest of his life!!!
