My daughter started at Gymboree Play & Music a little after her first birthday and although she was enrolled in daycare we were noticing that Maddie would not socially interact with her kids if we were at a funcation (i.e. birthday party, bar-be-que, etc). This is the reason that we enrolled her @ Gymboree so that she could interact with children her own age in a setting where my husband and I could also show Maddie how to socialize, follow directions and practice our imagainations. Shortly after her first class is when we started to notice the difference in Maddie as she was becoming less of a the wall flower and more of the leader. She enjoyed the parachute time and of course the bubbles but also like to pretend to be the topic of week (i.e. Cats, Dogs, Trains, Cars, etc). We made the decision to share how wonderful Gymboree play classes is with our friends and hosted Maddie's 2nd Birthday party @ Gymboree with an Art and Play Party. When it came time for the Play part of the party Maddie was so excited to show her friends Gymbo, the airlog, and of course the bubbles. The parents that attened the party also saw how much fun the children were having and have since signed up to attend the classes which is very nice that Maddie has a friend in her class. My little princess is developing on a daily basis but I give credit to the teachers and the structure @ Gymboree for allowing Maddie to come out of her little shell.
