When Jaxson was two weeks shy of six months old, we decided to move him up to the Play & Learn 2 class. After all, Jaxson has been enrolled at Gymboree since he was six weeks old so I felt that the Play & Learn 1 class had run it's course and it was time to challenge him to move along. I was nervous his first day of Level 2 class because Jaxson had yet to sit up by himself or even attempt to crawl. When we first walked into the class, Jason (Jaxson's dad) whispered in my ear and said, "baby maybe we need to keep him in Level 1. All these babies are moving around!" I replied, "no he will be fine" as I looked around the room and saw all the other babies sitting up by themselves and crawling around on the equipment. I wasn't intimidated, I knew my Jaxson would get it. The minute dad sat down on the play mat with Jaxson, he began to look around and the look on his face was that of amazement as he watched the other kids sit up and crawl. I turned away to talk to the other moms in the room, and all of a sudden I heard, "Tiffani look! Look!" I turned around and that was the day Jaxson began to sit up by himself. Right before his Level 2 class at Gymboree. I guess he had to keep up with his friends in the class and wasn't going to be easily intimidated by the other babies moving...lol. It's like he said, "hey I can do this to." I guess he has a competitive spirit...lol. I had just enough time to grab my phone from my pocket and capture a picture of the moment. You can see dad in the background kind of holding his hands up like he couldn't believe Jaxson was doing it...lol.
