Navigating Through Tunnels

Wednesday, August 10, 2011 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

One cannot underestimate the power of bonding with other new mothers. When I had my son Evan, I felt very isolated and was convinced that there weren't any available activities for a new mother and her newborn baby. I knew that the key for me to beat the after-baby-blues tunnel I was experiencing was to reach out to other new moms and also to stay busy. After some investigation, I discovered Gymboree and found there were options for both my son and me. I enrolled in the Play and Learn 1 class as quickly as I could.

Going to Gymboree was a transformational option for me as I met other mothers going through the same issues as we were. Soon I developed wonderful relationships with these moms, and Evan was busy socializing with their babies. I watch as Evan moves to higher level classes and strives to do the things that the older babies do, including his navigation of Gymboree tunnels! Mommy is happier with Gymboree in her life and more importantly, Evan is thriving! Both of us have climbed through tunnels, overcome obstacles, and discovered what waits at the end of each of our tunnels!
