Parachute Giggles, Walking, and Crawling - In That Order!

We have been taking our daughter Mikaela to Gymboree Play & Music sGymboree Memories, Gymboree Mom, Gymboree Classes, Classes for Kidsince she was 3 months old. Now that she is 9 months old, she knows what to expect in class and really looks forward to her Gymboree playtime! Of course, the bubbles and parachute time are her absolute favorite parts of the class. While many of the other babies are mesmerized by the bright colors, she is animated and giggling up a storm when the parachute goes "down on her head cur-plop!" Mikaela has never enjoyed tummy time and she'd much rather stand (or dance) than sit or lie down. So it wasn't a huge surprise when she began cruising around the furniture before she even came close to crawling. However, she was still too timid to let go of the furniture and walk. But during Open Gym one day, she was so distracted by the bright colors and the ball she was holding that she just let go of the foam incline and walked to a tunnel! She never even knew it! Gymboree is still the only place she'll walk without holding on to anything. And just this past Monday, Mikaela finally crawled for the first time. During discussion time, I looked up and she was crawling to me from the pile of balls in the middle of the play mat! I actually teared up I was so proud of her! And of course, all the other Mommies cheered her on. :) Our fun times at Gymboree will forever be etched in our memories and scrapbooks!

Class Type: Play & Learn 2 (6-10 months)
