I began taking our twins, Eli and Sophie Kate, to Gymboree Play & Music in Cornelius, NC, when they were 4 months old. As a new mother and a new mother to twins no less, having a place to go and spend time with my babies in a structured setting every week was nothing short of a miracle. I not only have been able to learn about their development and talk with other mothers with babies their age regularly, but I've been able to watch Eli and Sophie Kate grow and develop alongside their peers and try new things in a "safe" environment. From the beginning, I wanted to be sure the two of them were exposed to other children in their age group and Gymboree provides that opportunity. We've made so many friends that are sticking with us even as we change classes! Eli has been fixated from the beginning on our teacher, Ms. Beth. I think it's because she has such a beautiful voice when she sings - it's quite a contrast to mine! Even in his early colicky days she made him smile. He stares at her throughout class when she's speaking and singing. In addition to Ms. Beth, Eli adores parachute time. Sophie Kate took to the bubbles immediately and is enthralled with the music (Ms. Beth played a xylophone in Level 1 to help tummy time go by more quickly for them and Sophie Kate was in an almost trance-like state when she listened!). We’ve been able to enroll them in not only Play & Learn classes but also Music classes, which they both enjoy. Gymboree Play & Music has given us so many gifts as a family; friends, new ways to play, and a way to benchmark and set expectations around our babies' growth. It's been a wonderful addition to our lives and will be a part of our lives for years to come!
