My child was born at 26 weeks. I am a first time mother. He was a fragile premie, and I have been told over and over again that he will developmentally fall behind other children his age. I enrolled him in Gymboree Play & Learn classes when he was about 9 months old. Prior to this I checked out another child's gym and was displeased with the instructors and facility management. I am a stay at home mother so I saw Gymboree Play and Music as a great opportunity for him to socialize and to assist with challenges that he may have to overcome. For a little while, he was very delayed compared to his peers. Each class he became more and more comfortable and developed. He now looks forward to his classes and is catching up quite nicely to his peers. Our current instructor Amanda is extremely knowledgeable and personable. My child is fascinated with her and she shows the proper care and attention to each and every child and parent. I look forward to participating each and every activity that Gymboree has to offer. I have even thrown his first birthday party there where Teresa was the host. She too was amazing and really knew how to get each and every child engaged. These two are extremely enthusiastic and helpful. Signing up for Gymboree Play and Music has been one of the best choices I have made for my child and family.
