We started my son in Gymboree Play & Learn 2 when we were worried that he wasn't being very active, and showed no interest in learning to crawl. Within a few weeks of going to Gymboree Play & Music, he was a full crawler! Now he is in Play & Learn 5 after a break from classes. We started him again because we wanted him to improve his coordination skills, and learn to socialize with other kids. He just completed his 3rd class - and he is already following directions of the class, and waiting his turn for the class activities which is amazing progress for him! Most mornings when he wakes up now, one of the first things out of his mouth is "Hug Gymbo!".
On a side note - the Gymboree we attend is VERY well fun. We have tried some other gyms, and most kids gyms have similar rules (no kids over the age of 5, no sick kids, etc...), but none of them enforce these rules. This was very frustrating as a parent to see my son not be able to play as he should be because there is a "big kid" monopolizing everything, or a "sick kid" coughing on all of the toys. At the Gymboree Play & Music we go to - all of these rules are enforced (I have actually seen the woman in charge as a bigger kid to leave, and a coughing child to leave as well), which is such a breath of fresh air! I realize that enforcing these rules makes for an awkward conversation - but it ruins the experience for the rule-following families otherwise! Thank you Gymbroree!
