Teacher Toni Ann is Absolutely Wonderful!

Friday, July 22, 2016 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Teacher Toni Ann is absolutely wonderful! She is extremely engaging and gives each child personal attention every week. She makes a point to get to know caregivers and children. She has made our experience rewarding and fulfilling. I have seen much growth in my children and I know it is partly because her dedication to ensuring they have a wonderful time.

Dear Gymboree Play & Music

Friday, June 3, 2016 by Guest Stories

My husband and I enrolled our daughter, Genevieve, in Gymboree Play & Music when she was 13 months. She was an early walker at 10 months so we were desperate to find a safe outlet for her curious ways. Gymboree was PERFECT! She could learn to climb (and fall), run (and fall) and bounce (and fall) all in the safest and softest environment.

The Play & Learn classes have been a hit from day one! Parachute time and bubbles are Genevieve's favorite! As she became older, she also became attached to her teacher Ms Jessica. She now mimics the "pretend play" that Ms Jessica has taught her and she looks forward to seeing "Ms Jessica!" as we drive to Gymboree. Genevieve also warmed up to Ms Julie (a returning employee) very quickly and gets very excited to see her as well!

Genevieve has seen Ms Denise from the beginning but only in the capacity as the desk lady . . . but all of a sudden she became quite interested in what Ms Denise was doing behind that counter. She would ask me if she could say hello (Daddy works behind a desk at home and sometimes cannot be interrupted so that is why Genevieve wanted to be sure it was ok to talk to Ms Denise). Genevieve quickly became attached to Ms Denise as well which was perfect timing . . . we recently began the Preschool Steps class (the one hour drop off class) led by Ms Denise and Ms Julie. While the "drop off" time may involve a tear or two, Genevieve is SO EXCITED when I pick her up! She tells me what they did and PROUDLY shows me her paintings, letters, etc.

My only regret . . . I wish I would have started this class earlier!!

So that leads me to a suggestion . . . when a child turns 2, they should receive a certificate for a free trial class of the Preschool Steps.

Thanks Gymboree, Ms Jessica, Ms Julie, Ms Denise and all the other workers who have made Gymboree such a wonderful place!!

Play & Learn Fun!

Saturday, May 10, 2014 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

It doesn't get any better than a Gymboree day with Ms. Liz and her staff! My youngest (2) and oldest (4) have been attending this location since it opened less than a year ago. When they sing the songs at home and attempt the grand ole duke of york together, you know you've struck gold! :-) As with all little ones, my youngest floats in & out with her interest and ability to follow along with the class, but she learns something new just about every week. She has a greater confidence in her body and its abilities and social skills as well. My 4yo attends the school skills program, With the help of this program, she finally has an interest in learning her numbers & letters and is anxious to tell me about it afterwards! The incorporation of art, science and play have helped encourage her curiosity and promote good social skills. We highly recommend Gymboree, Ms. Liz & Miss Jenny!

Gymboree Woodbury

Friday, January 24, 2014 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

I have been taking my 2 year old grandson to Gymboree Play & Music in Woodbury for quite some time now. I have to tell you that Miss Christine and Miss Sheila have made a great difference in my grandsons life. He gets excited when I tell him that we are going to see them. He loves the different activities that they teach him. He and I have made many good friends at Gymboree, who we get together with on the days that we do not go to Gymboree. Thank you for having such a great team working with our kids

Miss Kia

Wednesday, December 18, 2013 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Being new to the area, we were looking for a social outlet for our daughter (who was 6 months old at the time). We found Gymboree, and more importantly, Miss Kia, and our lives have truly been improved ever since. The play & learn classes have done wonders to help her reach her physical milestones and have grown with her physically and mentally. "Kia" was one of our daughter's first words, and when you say "Gymboree" -- she says "Kia"! Which has now also been followed by "Jim". She checks under every carpet and blanket in our house all week long looking for Baby Gymbo. Miss Kia has made us feel like better parents and we are forever grateful. We all look forward to seeing her every week. I don't know how she does it!

Bubbles and kids

Friday, April 19, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

Our 2 year old daughter Nina isn't a morning person bGymboreey any means. When we first started taking her to Gymboree classes it was a fight getting her out of bed. But just after a few classes she started to catch on that it was going to be a regular thing. She absolutely loves playing with bubbles and all the kids in her class, and she will randomly ask about bubbles and kids. "Mommy?" Yes Nina? "Bubbles and kids?" We are going tomorrow Nina and you can play with the kids. She is still not the easiest child to get up in the morning, but as soon as I ask her if she wants to play with the bubbles and kids she springs right out of her bed and is quite eager to get dressed.

Abes journey

Friday, April 19, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

Last November, we realize our 2 year oGymboreeld son, Ibrahim "Abe" may be autistic. We tried switching preschools even started therapy. So far this year participating Gymboree Play & Learn classes at least twice a week has helped our son progress so much. It is just not the play classes but the entire staff at our Gymboree has made a huge difference for our family. I believe that our location are the most amazing instructors. Everytime our son gets to Gymboree his face lights up he becomes excited he just seems like any other toddler. Even when he's having a moment or sensory overload we have never felt like we did not belong. Our family have you been members since September 2009. I don't know what I would have done without Gymboree Play & Music!

Angelina- the social butterfly

Thursday, April 18, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

Before we registered Angelina for the Gymboree Play & Music classes, she didn't like to play with other kids. She would act very hostile towards them. It has been truly amazing to see her transformation and her social skills developed. We are forever grateful at Gymboree in helping my Angelina to continue further her social skills :-)

Out of her shell

Thursday, April 18, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

My daughter (two years old) and I attended our first ever Gymborre class almost a week ago. Prior to registering and attending, I realized that I needed my daughter to be more socialized and to feel safe and confident to interact with other (new) people. My child is outspoken and very playful at home, but in public and around new people, she becomes quite an introvert with bouts of tearful fits and refusal to leave my hip. Upon arrival, I began wondering if this social anxiety would return. My daughter played by herself for a few minutes while our new classmates arrived and mostly stuck by my side. However, by the middle of the class, I was actively chasing her around, watching her speak, respond and interact with the wonderful instructors, children and other parents!!! It was great to see how much her confidence had grown in just that short amount of time. After that one class, I knew that we had to register for more classes and make Gymboree an integral part of our weekly schedule.

Why we love Gymboree!

Wednesday, April 10, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

I just recently moved to San Diego when my husband joined the navy and got his first duty station. Right away it was extremely intimidating, a very big city! We slowly got comfortable, and eventually found Gymboree Play & Music! With all our new schedules and transitioning we always made sure that if there was one thing that we would do every week was take lola, (our two year old) to Gymboree and give her some undivided mommy and daddy time. The more we came the more we fell in love with our teachers, the classes, the other families and spending the time together with our daughter, all of which would not be the same without Gymboree.
Eventually it came time for my husband to deploy, it really bothered my daughter that her daddy wasnt coming home everyday and with him gone going to Gymboree became a little more of a hassle, but we managed to keep going, and the more we went the more we realized we truly are getting through this deployment one Gymboree day at a time! With Gymboree staying in my daughters life it was something i knew we could do together and she would be smiling and playing and as much fun as it was to have daddy there we are having fun just us girls. We are meeting new moms, and my daughter is making new friends, and we have taken up more classes. We go to almost every open gym we can, and just keeping busy is keeping us going. So thank you Gymboree for giving my toddler and I something to get us through this hard time in our lives!

Smooth Operator

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

My son enrolled in Gymboree Play & Music at 13 months old, and we have seen so much emotional and physical confidence that we directly attribute to his time at Gymboree. Dylan was born premature, weighing a mighty 3 pounds. Some of the challenges we face are due to his emotional maturity in relation to his peers. When other kids put away the balls because its parachute time, we would have an emotional breakdown because he was stuck at not wanting to put away the balls. Our teacher was sensitive to his needs and promoted a transition process for Dylan that we started using at home too. Now he runs to put away toys, kissing them goodbye as he puts them in the bucket/bag/box. He has learned how to think about what comes next and that saying goodbye to something isnt bad. This, to me, has been our pricless Gymboree experience.

Fun!

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

Our son Mills loves Gymboree and we love how it excites him. My favorite memory is when the teacher asked the kids to call for Gymbo, and Mills yelled out 'Gymbo!' very loudly three times! This isn't his usual behavior, and it was cool to see how much he enjoys Gymbo and the class!

Gymboree Memories

Friday, April 5, 2013 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Our family moved recently. Our nearest Gymboree PlayPlay Classes, Gymboree Classes, Child Development Center, Toddler Play, Toddler Play Classes, Classes for Toddlers & Music (Collegeville) was one of the first places I took my son Dimitry to. He started in Play & Learn 4 and moved to Play & Learn 5. The teachers were all so wonderful with the tots as well as kind and caring. We met so many great families and from that have made good friends. I have been so thankful for Gymboree because rain or shine we always had a great time :)
