Grateful for Gymboree Classes!

Tuesday, July 5, 2016 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

My now 3 year old daughter has been attending Music, Art and School Skills programs at the Bellevue Square Gymboree Play & Music over the last year. She has also attended the the Play & Learn and Sport classes. She absolutely loves teacher Megan in her Music class, whose positive energy, bright smile and warm teaching style has not only helped her learn about rhythm and beat, but has had a huge impact on her confidence levels.

Teacher Megan, Danny, Jeannie and Erin have also had a huge impact in her learning in the School skills program, that have made her Preschool ready. They have made her feel comfortable and secure; created a perfect environment for learning, which made the transition to being in this class without me, absolutely seamless.

Jaanvi loves going to all of her classes at Gymboree, and I would very highly recommend both the Music and the School skills programs to anyone.

We are very grateful to all her teachers at Gymboree! Thank you!

Fantastic in Melbourne

Monday, June 13, 2016 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

The Melbourne Gymboree Play & Music has been a fantastic experience for my family. The teachers at this location are wonderful at engaging each child, being energetic and investing in providing developmentally appropriate sensory and physical activities. We have been going to Gymboree weekly for the last 18 months and are thrilled with our experiences here.

Before we started Gymboree, my daughter was shy and did not have many experiences interacting with children her own age. She has grown into an outgoing, imaginative child, in part because of the experiences she had here each week. She has blossomed into a leader among her peers and will be more than ready for Pre-K in the fall. I'm excited to start taking my son to classes in the fall while she is in school.

We will continue to be a part of the Gymboree family for many years to come.

Look Mommy and Daddy, Gymboree Play & Music helped me learn to walk!

Tuesday, May 31, 2016 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Before I begin one of my (many) favorite Gymboree Play & Music stories, I must make the comment that Gymboree Play & Music has been and is WONDERFUL for my son, Asher! His teacher, Ms. Emily has a true talent in teaching her classes and the rest of the Pearland staff is awesome as well!;) We have made new friends and that's always great!

Asher, had been "cruising" and taking a few steps here and there for quite some time! It's been an amazing time and opportunity to have Asher at home and not in school or daycare, and as the super overprotective, no germs on Asher parents that my husband and I have been and are lol, We never really had Asher around a lot of other Little Ones! His relatives are all older than he is! He never saw other Little Ones his age walking and just preferred to be picked up and carried everywhere, as we enjoyed this too!!! This "I'm not going to walk until I'm ready" was until of course, we started to attend Gymboree Play & Music!!!

We came in on a Friday, spoke with the staff, and decided to do a trial class the next day, Saturday, and Asher cried literally the entire class! After his class, the staff assured us that Asher just needed time to get used to  Gymboree Play & Music and we should come to open classes, so we enrolled him! Best thing ever!!! We were confident that Asher would familiarize himself with  Gymboree Play & Music and like it! What we did not know was that he was truly taking everything in and observing his now friends!

Later that evening, we were playing with Asher and blowing bubbles with him as he did earlier with Ms. Emily! We were trying to repeat some of the things Asher did earlier in his class and voilà!!!!! Asher began to walk!!! After being completely astonished and grabbing the camera for pics, we concluded that this newly found walking was due to Gymboree Play & Music and Asher noticing and observing other Little Ones in his class! It had to be! We didn't do any other exercises with him and he had seen bubbles before!!! I'm so glad that we got the pics- and story to prove this!!! Gymboree Play & Music, you are great and we will always remember you all as taking part in our bright star, Asher walking!!!

The Staff at Gymboree is So Warm

Wednesday, May 20, 2015 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

All the staff at Gymboree is so warm, welcoming and enthusiastic. My son's teacher Ms. Liz is simply incredible. Her patience, kindness and will to really work with the student is just amazing. Given this job requires more dedication than anything considering toddlers are a handful, she never fails to exceed the parents expectations. Other credible staff members we really adore are Ariel and the former staff member Nina. Kelsey the replacement for Nina is truly a doll as well, always smiling and ready to embrace the kids. Thank you Gymboree for discovering the talents on our kids and bringing out their confidence!

So many colors, so little mess

Friday, February 7, 2014 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Miss Alex, Art class, Sat at 1pm... Jaydon moved to School Skills class from Miss Alex's art class. We are very grateful for having Miss Alex as an art teacher. Not only is she extremely kind and patient, but is very instrumental when it comes to teaching our little ones about colors, combining colors, sharing, taking turns and staying clean. How she does that, I don't  know, but am so happy she keeps them happy, inspired and clean. We love to see her on School Skills days when she is available to help with Miss Coco's class. She's always ready in case she is needed in class. Always with such a warm smile. No wonder she is one of Jaydon's favorite people there at Gymboree!! We miss doing art class with Miss Alex, but are happy to see her when she there to help out with SS class. Thank you Miss Alex for always greeting us with a smile and kindness. It is because of teachers like you that we keep coming back.

Gymboree and The Kass Household

Tuesday, April 16, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

I can no longer remember a time when GymborGymboree Play & Musicee songs have not flowed through my head and been sung in our home. My son, now 7, daughter, now 5, and last daughter, now 2, all know Gymboree as if going were a given.

It all began in 2006. My son Sammy began Gymboree when he was 2 weeks old. His first teacher Jeena was his first crush. In fact, I believe I had a small crush on her myself. She was sweet, soft spoken and wonderful with all the little babies. Sammy had the most wonderful time and it wasn't long before we followed Jeena over to another location just so we could see her more than once a week. My friend and I joined together as our sons were only 3 weeks apart. We loved watching them grow and learn, roll the balls, look in the mirror (drool over the mirror), hide under the scarves, grab our fingers when we sung "Twinkle Twinkle" and all the other fun things that we did. Sammy went on to through Play & Learn 6 and was devastated when he started school and had to leave all his friends that he had made. To this day we still are in contact with quite a few of those babies we met from the very beginning. My second child Rhianna was born in 2008, and began Gymboree when she was 1 month old. I now had two little people going at one time and that was quite interesting. Sammy kept trying to teach Rhianna all the things he was learning. I was going to Gymboree about 4 times per week and dreaming the songs at home. At certain points I sang to my husband "Clean up, Clean up, Ian put your toys away..." Not sure if he was amused, but the kids laughed. The lessons the kids were learning were so useful at home it really was making things easier to clean up and for Sammmy to learn to share. As with Sammy, Rhianna was crushed when it was her time to go. Over the years we have had some really excellent teachers that the kids have grown quite attached to, and my children have made life long friends. My last daughter Allie was born in 2011. She began Gymboree when she was 3 weeks old. She is now in Play & Learn 5 and I am going to keep her in Gymboree till she is ready for college. She is our last little person. I truly believe it is I who will not be ready to leave not her. As I sit here writing this piece I cannot believe how much time I have spent at Gymboree. How much time I have spent under the parachute. How many times I have called for Gymbo. How many bubbles I have popped and counted. How many times I have danced and froze, or all the other countless games and activities I have played with the kids. And, just as my children have made friends, so to have I. The bonding times I have shared with all the three of them at Gymboree Play & Music is priceless. I go into Allie's room at night now and look at the Gymbo doll she cuddles. Sammy was only 3 weeks old when one of the teachers gave him that doll because he was the only little guy that showed up for class. To me that Gymbo represents a huge part of my children's early childhood and the fun we had together. We may not always attend the classes, but we will always be a part of Gymboree.

Lawton loves Gymbo!!

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

I had used Gymboree Play & Music with my oldest child. Then a few years later, I Gymboree Play & Musichad a set of twins and our son Lawton in a space of 18 months. Lawton had many health challenges; as they were not sure he would live 24 hours. We have seen many miracles in Lawton's life. But by the age of 3 years, he wasn't ready for pre-school. We signed up Lawton for Gymboree with a Groupon special. That month we attended at least 3 classes a week. He advanced so much in one month, that just 2 months later was ready for preschool. Everyone at Gymboree has been supportive, warm and welcoming. Lawton has been treated with loving dignity. Gymboree has been wonderful for our family. Thank you.

First School Experience

Thursday, April 4, 2013 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

Because of how my daughter's birthday lands, she has 2 years until she can start kindergarten but is so ready to learn. So, we enrolled her in School Skills classes to give her a glimpse of school without losing her to preschool for the better half of the week. She has excelled and loves her class and has made great friends. Thank you Gymboree for providing a preschool option for those that just aren't ready to make that leap just quite yet.

Highly Recommend

Thursday, November 8, 2012 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

I would HIGHLY recommend Mary Beth's Play & Learn 1 class at the Glen Ellyn Gymboree Play & Music. She is so knowledgeable about infant development / early childhood education, genuine, sympathetic, energetic, fun, and a downright sweethart who LOVES babies and all children. I appreciate that she is patient with my 10-week-old son who isn't always the most engaged student in class. Also, I have to comment that she really impressed me when I had started crying in class and she immediately stopped the class, and gave me a hug along with many consoling, heartfelt words. So touched. Henry and I will enjoy Gymboree until he's ready for school!

Great Pre-School Experience

Thursday, September 13, 2012 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

My son Daniel had a fantastic experience at Gymboree Play & Music. He was enrolled in the Schools Skills Class and had both Miss Jessica and Miss Alex as his teachers. They were great, full of energy, always positive and all around excellent teachers. They both helped me reach my goal, which was to teach my son the skills he needed to be ready for Kindergarten. He is now ready thanks to Miss Jessica and Miss Alex. They are both excellent teachers and I would highly recommend them to any parent who is looking for a great pre-school experience.

Learning all new stuff

Thursday, July 19, 2012 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

My son is really shy. He is really quite but after joining Gymboree Play & Music classes, I can feel the difference, I must say now his overall personality is developing. Now he really likes to make new friends there and outside, in every class he is learning new things like all days basic manners, counting, different animals sounds, coloring and art work,  sharing toys with other kids, etc... It's really funny but his Miss always says he is good helper. He always try to help his Miss in every task. Now I really like watching him grow. You won't believe but every Wednesday he is ready before me to go to Gymboree.

I'm Ready for School Mommy

Thursday, July 12, 2012 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

My son Chance age 3 started Gymboree Play & Music 6 months ago and he loves the class. Chance looks foward to Saturday morning sessions with his teacher and his friends. The weekly currculums are amazing and fun. My son has learned to play and share with others as well as identify letters, shapes, colors and animals. Chance loves story time at Gymboree so much when he comes home he ask me to read to him as his teacher does.

The funniest moment at Gymboree was when my son was playing with his friend Gabrielle and they were teaching each how to sound out letters. During Chance experience at Gymboree, I have learned to make learning fun and interesting. Chance loves arts and crafts and singing the ABC song at the end of the session. Gymboree has helped me and Chance prepare for school on 9/12, and I would recommend Gymboree to my family and friends for their children.

My Daughter's Social Development

Friday, June 22, 2012 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

My daughter started attending the Baton Rouge Gymboree Play & Music about 2 years ago. When she began Play and Learn, she was painfully shy and would cling to me each class. Thanks to this wonderful program, and Ashley, Mary Claire, and Rebecca, she is now very comfortable in social situations. She now attends School Skills and looks forward to every class. I can honestly say that because of the classes and the wonderful people at the Baton Rouge Gymboree, she will be ready for, and happy about, attending school. I will be forever grateful for the positive impact this has had on my daughter.

Your child's learning does not slow down during the Summer.  Keep the learning going this Summer through art, science exploration, play and more. Also, explore and nurture key social and emotional skills, engage in activities that require cooperation and encourage communication with peers. Our Shool Skills class includes both independent and group learning activities to promote the important developmental and social skills your preschool child will need for a successful transition into school.

School Skills Success

Friday, May 11, 2012 by Gymboree Play & Music Family and Friends

After registering my son for preschool this coming fall, I realized he had never been left with anyone but a family member. The staff at the DuPage Gymboree Play & Music encouraged me to preview a School Skills class which I did enroll for afterward. It has been a difficult road with some tears but my son now looks forward to School Skills every Monday. If it wasn't for the extra support for both me and my son, I'm not sure I would have been able to stick it out. I love returning to class, seeing the big smile my son has for me and hearing about everything he learned while I was gone. Thank you Melissa, Lou Ann and Michele!!! With School Skills, I know my son will be ready for preschool this fall!

Gymboree Music classes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers!

Tuesday, April 3, 2012 by Gymboree Talks

One of my favorite Preschooler Songs in Gymboree’s Music III class is “On St. Paul’s Steeple”. It’s the perfect example of how Music Classes for Preschoolers supports school readiness.   We sing and play this delightful scale song on a set of eight Hand Bells during our N.W. Isles music lesson.   It is so rewarding to see preschoolers lined up shoulder to shoulder with their minds at work and their social skills engaged in the challenge of working cooperatively with their peers.  Their success is no small feat!  It requires them to listen, take turns, and decipher the order of the musical tones that lead up to just the right moment to play their Hand Bell!  What a valuable lesson in working with others to create something and achieve a goal and can only imagine how proud they are when their masterpiece comes out right! Musical activities like this “Hand Bell Ensemble” and others explored in Gymboree Music classes for infants, toddlers and preschoolers touch every area of your child’s development and teach them valuable musical skills too!

Yes, mom. One day he will go to school.

His name is Mason. His story is astounding. Mason was delivered to us from Guatemala at the age of just 5 months. He was very sick with a genetic disorder and not expected to survive. But, after spending 18 months in the hospital, surviving a stroke, several infections and a bone marrow transplant, he proved us all wrong.

After a long and scary recovery, life finally began to unfold for little Mason and his mom. Gymboree was ready and waiting for the little guy who was once believed to never play and experience being a "normal" child.

With great excitement and first time jitters, Mason and his mom signed up for Play and Learn classes. It wasn't long before Mason smiled, gained strength to climb and crawl. Mason's mom let go of her fears as she watched her sweet miracle grow, play, and learn.

It wasn't long before it was time to enroll Mason in the School Skills program. This was an amazing milestone. Gymboree Play & Music worked so passionately and patiently with Mason assuring his mom each step of the way that he was doing great. Mason loved going, adored his teachers, and was proud to learn the letter "M". He painted works of art, experienced touch and sound and made friends. But most of all Mason showed his mom that everything was going to be okay. He was healthy and ready for life.

Gymboree helped prepare Mason for the big and exciting world out there. He learned confidence, grew stronger, and for the first time understood that living was fun and exciting.

Once filled with fear and doubt, Mason's mom can now look back and smile at the promise the doctor's made to her. "Yes, mom. One day Mason will go to school".

Our Gymboree Journey

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 by Gymbo Buzz Blog Contest

Cora started Gymboree Play & Music at Level 3. She had become quite the climber and I thought she was ready for some interaction with other children. I remember sharing stories of our children crawling up the stairs for the first time. Cora's favorite part has always been hugging Gymbo at the end. From our beginning until now, hugging Gymbo is full of smiles and laughter. We are now in level 6 and unfortunately our journey is soon to be over. Cora starts preschool and we must say goodbye for now. We began this journey with the crawling stage, and now we are potty training and heading to school. Cora always wanted to jump into the water (the large squishy blue mat) and now she is able to. Just today (our last class!) she jumped off a structure into the water without holding Mommy's hand. Thanks Gymbo for our unforgettable journey!!
