From Tadpoles to Frogs

Tuesday, April 19, 2011 by Teacher Talk

Today in School Skills classes, we talked about the many different animals that come from eggs. We discussed how those animals go through stages, similar to the way human babies grow and change over time. The children were very interested in the metamorphosis of a tapdole into a frog and asked many questions about the anatomy of this change.

The children got to experience the metamorphosis of a frog themselves when they created their own individual frog models with opposable tails and limbs. My students and I look forward to learning more about aquatic life as we continue our science unit about ponds and pond life. Our preschool age activities keep the student interested and eager to learn more.
